In thinking about this show at Merwick Rehab Center, I wanted to create work that was appropriate for the space, both in scale and content. Since the show was going to be along a hallway I began to experiment working in a grander scale with 4’ x 6’ acrylic paintings on canvas. I decided to combine my interest in energy fields and figurative representation as offerings in a moment of time. I was thinking how this imagery and vibrant color could positively affect people with health issues as they were passing through the hallway. The question I pondered was how might this vibrancy help shift a viewer’s own image of their body and it’s miraculous healing potential?
